Using Web 2.0 Tools in the Classroom
With the Internet it is possible to make teaching, learning and application of knowledge fun and engaging. All while teaching students 21st Century Skills. Here is a collection of my favorite Web 2.0 Tools that can be used by teachers & students.
~I use IkeepBookmarks to organize pretty much all of the websites that I find useful and think may be of help to others. It is also a great site to list sites/links for your students to minimize the time they spend typing in URLs. You can check out my Tools for Teachers page to see how the site can be customized and used, as well as surf around for some neat teacher resources.
~Web 2.0 in Education is a truly amazing site. You could spend hours checking out all of the resources listed here. Go to the site pages box on the left side of the page to look for tools for specific projects and uses. Another thing that makes this site so great is that the author has annotated each of the tools that are suggested with the postives and negatives of each and even provides suggestions on how they can be used with students!! Give it a look and get inspired.
~Bill and Susan at Internet4Classrooms search the Internet looking for high-quality, free resources which can be used in classroom instruction. You'll find teacher training modules for all types of technology tools, games for students organized by grade level and skill and much much more.
~ReadWriteThink is a great site with interactive tools for students and corresponding lessons for teachers. You can use the tools to supplement your own lessons, or use the lessons provided. A great site.
~Tech4Teachers is dedicated to teachers around the world who are looking for free resources on the internet that will help enhance their teaching. New sites are added weekly, so check back often!
~Expand your curriculum with 4Teachers timesaving educational resources that use technology to improve instruction across all content areas and grade levels.

~This blog from the California School Library Association lays out 23 things that you can do, in your own time, to learn some basic web 2.0 tools and how they can be used in the classroom. It's like a crash course in web 2.0 tools.
~Free Technology For Teachers offers a review of free technology resources and how teachers can use them. Ideas for technology integration in education.
~Classroom 2.0 is a social network for those interested in Web 2.0 and collaborative technologies in education. The hope of this site is "that those who are "beginners" will find this a supportive community and a comfortable place to start being part of the digital dialog."
~EdTech Talk is a "collaborative open webcasting community."
