Miss Mahoney

I am an Assistant Professor at the Florida State University K-12 Developmental Research School in Tallahassee, Florida and teach students with Learning Disabilities and provide extra support to remedial students in reading and math. I have a Master's Degree in Special Education and a National Board Certification in Literacy. I have worked extensively with students with special needs and have experience in behavioral and academic assessment, intervention development, and direct provision of services. I specialize in the implementation of interventions in academic and behavioral areas, and the use of data to monitor and design Response to Intervention procedures.  I am passionate about using technology (especially Web 2.0 tools) in the classroom to maximize time for teachers, make learning fun & engaging and to facilitate knowledge of 21st Century skills in students. In my personal time I read a lot of books, am remodeling my home and play Roller Derby as The Terminatrix for a team called Capital Punishment.

The purpose of this site is to share what I love and what I have learned with others. I will continue to update the pages in the link list on the left, so check back often!
